Utterly gorgeous vintage dress is difficult for me to date. It's definitely vintage and the pattern is similar to a 40s summer gown, but somebody yoiked the original center rear zipper and replaced it with a more modern one. The zipper definitely was replaced; they used pale orange stitching, hidden during wear. There were a lot of quality pieces in the 1970s inspired by the 30s and 40s! 

The beautiful, well-constructed vintage dress you see is what you get! 

Princess-seamed, she has convertible straps that hook/snap into place, a fitted waist, and a truly voluminous skirt with a deep hem.

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) to about 34"/taut 35" 

Waist about 26"/taut 27"

Hips full

Shoulder to waist area about 17 1/2" (can be easily adjusted higher or lower)

Shoulder to hem about 53" and has a deep 7" hem

♛Condition

Great vintage shape. At least 40+ years old.

A minor trace of toning along underarm rims, not seen during wear. Some faint make-up (?) discoloration on the INSIDE of rear bodice facing fabric, hidden inside dress. The rear zipper is a later replacement (as described) and is missing a metal eye for its hook. There's a tiny and faint trace mark on a rear gore of the skirt, found only if spread flat and searched.

Gown is heavy and shipping reflects this.
