Stunning late 1930s to early 1940s dress set consisting of an opaque crepe rayon slip with little metal slide fastener straps + a fluttery chiffon duster jacket (redingote) with padded shoulders, fagoting, and 25 (!!!) wicked triangular "pearl" buttons.

Print reminds me of a Escher or...Qbert (my dad owned a video game arcade!).

Wear together, wear apart! Wonderful to find them together after all these years.7

Very nice vintage shape. Cleaned and freshened. 80+ years old.

The redingote has a tiny hole (pencil point-sized) located below a shoulder and a couple subtle scratches or pulls in the fabric at hip, found under scrutiny.

Slip has one very faint spot to one side of its bodice.
