Beautiful, heavy, voluminous folk costume is quite old...I'd imagine dating to at least the era I've listed, if not edging further back into antique status. The textiles used are both quaintly rustic and fine. The softest wool I've felt in quite a while pairs up with contrasting woven braid + fine scarlet red silk satin trimming waist and hem.

(The vintage folk blouse shown is a prop piece only and is incorrect as far as tradition goes, but it gets the job done!)

I was unable to completely pin down the place of origin, and thus the keyword-o-rama! There are many, many regional variations to be found among Nordic and Saami folkways and traditions, so if you have any additional information, please let us know.

Fits about a modern M and meant to be worn snugly; please allow room for fit/ease!

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) to about 36"/37" and can be worn with pushed-up cleavage, too

Waist about 29"/30"

Shoulder to waist seam about 16 1/4"

Shoulder to hem about 47"

♛Condition

Very good shape, feels incredibly sturdy. Gently freshened and free of smells or ick, opted not to soak or dry clean this one. 

The cotton lining the bodice is obviously older and has faint age speckles and toning, nothing weird or gross, just age.

Satin trim has wear at waist where there's a hook/eye closure, but this imperfection is not at all visible when it's fastened up and pinafore is worn.

The backside of bodice has some darkish silhouette type marks. See photos.

What you see is what you get, and this unusual beauty is priced VERY well for what it is. Bunads, for example, can be priced into the THOUSANDS.
