Phenomenal ca. late 1960s designer cocktail party dress by "Anita Modes," a label carried by high-end department stores like Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue. Black chiffon (silk, we think) layered beautifully over pearly ivory acetate for a wicked "plunging" V-shaped illusion effect. Voluminous angel-like sheer sleeves, flat feminine satin bow, and bouncy layered skirt. The perfect balance of dark meets light, babydoll whimsy meets sex appeal. An absolute treasure of the era.

Great vintage shape. Exceptionally well-preserved for this fabric and level of volume.

Nitpicks: camera picked up some tiny reddish hints of fade to the satin bow, visible in photos...yet I can't see it here with my naked eye in normal indoor lighting!
