Spectacular, holiday-worthy vintage ca. 1940s full-length gown in crepe rayon crepe of rich scarlet, the entire bodice carefully honeycomb-pleated and crowned with jet black glass beads.

Fits like modern size ; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior fabric allowances to allow tailoring larger or smaller. There is light give as noted.

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) about 38"/taut 42"

Waist to about 28" unbelted

Hips to about 62"/full (~10" down from waist seam)

Center shoulder to waist seam about 17 1/2" (17" where a belt would sit)

Shoulder to hem about 51 1/2" and has 2 1/2" hem

Sleeves about 8"

Shoulders should suit about 16" - 17"

Armhole opening circumference about 19"

♛Condition

Very good overall with gentle signs of its age. Miraculously, no underarm fade. 75+ years old.

Some subtle marks on the skirt (tucked in pleat, to side, a faint smudge at rear side/hip) that are easily overlooked in normal indoor/evening lighting. A wee puncture wound at shoulder, does not seem to compromise dress though certainly could be mended. Maybe a single bead gone from under arm, hidden when worn. The imperfections do not stand out during wear. Look over images. This beauty deserved to be worn.
