Vintage early 1940s/WWII era deadstock/never worn shirtwaist dress by "Dorothy Jay Frocks, a Majestic Garment," made in that fabulous airy linen-y rayon of the era. Color is delphite blue with black + white blossom print. Original tags, gentle puff sleeves w interior sleeveheads for structure, original slide buckle belts. Peter Pan collar can also be worn unbuttoned and relaxed. 12 matching ink-blue casein plastic buttons, placed to highlight design details.

Tagged a VINTAGE size 10. About a modern size XS; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior darts + allowances allow tailoring larger or smaller. Make sure you allow for enough room to get the kind of fit you like. There is minor give to the fabric when pulled very tight, wherever indicated.

Bust (underarm area measured flat across front, then doubled) to about 36"

Waist (measured across front seam and doubled) about 24"/tight 25"

Hips to about 38" (~10" from waist seam)

Shoulder to waist seam about 15 1/2"

Shoulder to hem about 40 1/2" + 2" hem

Shoulders suit about 15" - 16"

Sleeves about 9"

Great vintage shape. Deadstock/unworn with tags -- be the first to wear!

Nitpicks: the subtlest hint of age fade to the blue up by shoulders, hidden under many hairstyles. Not noticed unless fabric is scrutinized; please see photos. The closest thing to new you'll find in a garment from around 85 years back.
