Vintage late 1940s cocoa chambray cotton "Better Fit" dress with woven deco bars of delphite blue/white + polka dots. Coat dress style with shoulders pads, shield-shaped patch pocket + buttons all the way to the hem; they were doing this style and fabric at the tail-end of the decade.

Tagged a VINTAGE size 16 1/2. Fits like an estimated modern size L; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior fabric allowances to allow tailoring larger or smaller. Some give to fabric when pulled tight, as indicated.

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) about 42" - tight 45"

Waist to about 32"/tight 34" unbelted

Hips to about 45"/tight 47" (~10" down from waist seam)

Center shoulder to waist seam about 16"

Shoulder to hem about 45" and has 2" hem

Sleeves about 9 1/2"

Shoulders suit about 15 1/2" - 16"

♛Condition

Great vintage shape. The paper tags are still intact behind designer label and look perfect; doesn't seem worn much.

Nitpicks: a name inked on inner rear collar, as shown in last photo. Does not affect exterior at all, just want you to be aware of this hint of hidden history.
