Gorgeous vintage 1940s dress by "Betty Hartford" -- they made variations of this same style for at least three years, though ours favors the ones from about 1947 most. (See the range of ads!) Deep ink blue cotton dotted Swiss cotton, nice and airy, with a panel of embroidered organdy + "lacy" celluloid buttons; shoulder pads + matching button-on belt, too. This one will really shine on an actual person instead of a dress form.

Tagged a VINTAGE size 18 1/2. About a modern size L to XL cusp; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior darts + allowances allow tailoring larger or smaller. Make sure you allow for enough room to get the kind of fit you like. Slight "give" to fabric wherever indicated.

Bust (underarm area measured flat across front, then doubled) 42"/tight 43"

Waist (measured across front seam and doubled) about 33"/tight 34"

Hips to about 48" (~10" below waist seam)

Shoulder to waist seam about 16"

Shoulder to hem about 47" and has 2" hem

Great vintage shape -- sturdy, impeccably preserved, all 12 buttons intact, and doesn't seem to have seen much wear at all. Even interior paper size tag is crisp!
