Too wonderful for me to leave behind! As-is and bargain-priced as such, but still so pretty, deserving of some TLC to bring it back into circulation. Vintage 1930s to 1940s black with vivid tropical print dress featuring an interesting rear-wrap style and a matching sash belt with orange deco buckle. Yes, it has pockets!

Measurements

About a modern M (or roomy S) currently; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer.

This one can be adjusted easily by moving snaps around in the rear. Generous interior darting with fabric allowances.

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) to about 36"

Waist about 29"/30" unbelted

Hips full

Shoulder to waist about 16 3/8"

Shoulder to hem about 54" and has 1 1/2" hem

Armhole circumference about 19"

Condition

Sold as-found to study, restore, wear as a playday piece, for photo shoots or theatre. 75+ years old. Steamed thoroughly but not washed by us.

Small punctures on the bodice clustered around neckline. These should be darned or patched if you plan to wear for extended periods to extend the dress's lifespan. You could add appliqué or trim along the neckline to hide!

Popped seam under one arm; some tattiness at the seams at side waist make me believe there were probably belt loops once. At least one pinhole at hem.

A few ghostly, rather obscure whitish marks (mostly tucked inside skirt pleating).

The rear snaps may need to be adjusted so that it sits well on you; at the same time, you can tweak fit as needed.

See photos -- I tried to capture the gist of the imperfections, and there are many photos to help you can evaluate. May be some other TINY things that did not attract my eye and are well-accounted for in pricing...if perfect, this would be nearly 3x the price.
