Tagged a VINTAGE size 16. Fits about a modern M to L cusp. Very slight "give" when fabric is pulled completely tight/taut wherever mentioned.

Bust (underarm area measured flat, then doubled) to about 40"

Waist of jacket about 31"/tight 32" unbelted

Length shoulder to hem about 25 1/4"

Shoulders suit about 16" - 16 1/2"

Sleeves about 24"

Waist of pants about 29"/tight 29 1/2"

Hips to about 45"/46" (~10" down from waist)

Inseam length about 23 1/4" (go by outseam for leg length, due to that very deep rise!)

Outseam length about 40"

Rise about 19"

Condition

Very nice vintage shape and feels sturdy. Deep color, original tags attached.

Nitpicks: this near-antique satin fabric has signs of age and character when scrutinized, even though it's presumably unworn. Nothing that jumps out. Presents to the eye like the photos.

The bowtie sits crookedly, probably from the decades of storage. I fussed with it to get it sit nicely for photos. If I were keeping, I'd add a couple tacking stitches or tiny hidden safety pins to get it to stay put.

When held against a window's light to illuminate, I saw a couple small, narrow scrapes to the fabric below the rear neck area.

Cloth belt loops but no belt. A black satin tassel belt would look great, and they are cheap and easy to find.

Minor signs of previous use, character, and age are normal and expected for all pre-owned and vintage pieces. Flaws and issues are carefully noted/photographed, and our detailed photos give you a good idea of the look of each garment.
