Vintage ca. 1930s to 1940s cusp shirtwaist dress in the airy matte black rayon “mesh” marketed heavily during the era as a summertime fabric. Delicate cream lace inserts at the cuffs, structured padded sleeveheads + shoulder shirring, and a long run of 19 (!) functional clear celluloid buttons, domed like little gumdrops. Tiny tuft of a label at rear neck.

About a modern size L to XL; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior fabric allowances/darts inside to alter smaller or larger. Make sure you allow for enough room to get the kind of fit you like. Slight give to fabric when pulled tight/taut, wherever noted.

Great vintage shape. Ink black with no fade!

Nitpicks: really, this one is wonderfully well-preserved for the era. Inspecting closely, I found one teeny-tiny thinned scuff up at back shoulder around where the padded sleevehead sits. Not noticed during wear or display.
