Vintage late 1930s to early 1940s blouse + skirt dress suit of matte black rayon with black "bow" of sequins, echoed in the black novelty celluloid buttons shaped like bows. Puffed, padded sleeveheads, sexy triple sun ray bust darts, banded rear waist, and perfect gored skirt. Wear together, wear apart!

About a modern size S; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior darts + fabric allowances allow tailoring larger or smaller. Make sure you allow for enough room to get the kind of fit you like. Slight give to fabric when pulled tight/taut, wherever noted.

Bust of blouse (underarm area measured flat below white band at fullest part, then doubled) about 38"/tight 38 1/2" 

Waist of blouse (measured across front seam and doubled) about 28"/tight 29"

Waist of skirt about 26" 

Hips to about 38"/tight 40" (~10" down from waist)

Shoulder to hem of blouse about 23"

Shoulders suit about 15 1/2" - 16 1/2"

Sleeves about 11"

Skirt, waist to hem about 25" and has 1" hem

♛Condition

Skirt is in great vintage shape, blouse is very good.

Nitpicks: there's a hint of reddish cast along the underarms (more visible on inside of blouse) than outside, covered during wear. Holding it to the light, I found a tiny thin scrape to the fabric near one underarm and a pinhole. The carved shell buttons inside the side placket on skirt have some tiny chips/edge wear, but buttons are still functional.
