Vintage ca. late 1930s to early 1940s slinky deep wine red (I see Cherry Coke!) velvet dress, touched with just the right amount of metallic gold. Elegant draping crisscrosses the bodice and cascades asymmetrically from the waist.

About a modern size M to L range; please allow room for ease and the kind of fit you prefer. Interior fabric darts + allowances allow tailoring larger or smaller. Some give when pulled tightly flat, as indicated.

Bust (underarm area measured flat across front, then doubled) to about 38" slack to 41" pulled tight

Waist (measured across front seam and doubled) about 28" slack, nearly 32" pulled tight

Hips full/about 50"

Shoulder (estimated) to waist seam about 17"

Shoulder to hem about 46 1/2" + 1 1/2" hem

Armhole circumference about 18"

Shoulders suit about 16" - 16 1/2"

Sleeves about 16"

♛Condition

Very good vintage shape overall. 80+ years old.

Nitpicks: the metallic braid trim has a tiny (1/4") scrape to its finish on the back neckline. I faintly can make out the ghostly impression of a label that used to be at rear inside neckline. If I hold it against my hand/skin, it disappears, but my camera picks it up on my dress form. At any rate, may be hidden by your hairstyle. 

Three teensy scrapes or pinholes near a cuff. Somebody reinforced a short section of popped seam above side zipper with black thread. See images. Dress feels sturdy and possesses magnificent visual charisma.
