RARE Vintage Dated 1950s US Air Force USAF Darling Cotton Twill Shorts -- Choose Your Pair!

•Highlights: these pieces of history are dated 1955-1957, and I do not see any USAF shorts out there for sale anywhere, so I'm guessing they don't turn up often!; wonderful cut with nipped waist and fuller hips; cute pockets; front metal Rapid zipper + button closures; amazing quality you won't find in modern for this price point

I believe these are unworn but do note: while these were originally a men's uniform piece, a secondary surplus company altered these in the late 60s/early 70s to better fit cis women's figures by taking them in invisibly through the rear waist seam as shown

•Colors: khaki tan -- less warm-toned than the dress form photos, more like the flat lay

•Lined: partly in white cotton

•Closures: front button fly/metal zipper

•Designer/Labels: example markings shown; some are hand-inked with a size on inside waistband, not visible from exterior

♛Measurements

These are the measurements of the garment taken flat and doubled. Be sure to take your waist measurement at the top of the short's rise (center crotch measured up to waist). Add a little wiggle room for a great comfy fit! The belt loops can also be used to add your own belt and nip the waist smaller.

Measure the rise against your body to see where the waist will hit on you, then encircle this area with your measuring tape and add a little room. You can simulate fit of the short's various dimensions by encircling them with the tape using these measurements.

Unissued 70+ year old military surplus pieces.

I didn't see any visible flaws or issues across this group. Some have faint age freckling/foxing on the INSIDE white cotton lining as is shown in the last photo. All have the aforementioned alteration as is depicted to rear waist and booty seam to make them work better for small waists/bigger hips.

On rare occasion it's reasonable that there could be a tiny imperfection, easily missed, in pieces of this age. I make every effort to inspect and cull out items aren't up to snuff.

Great for military collectors, reenactors, early workwear collectors, and fans of the USAF. Sold as-found as preferred by our military collectors. Dry cleaning or laundering is not included in our price, but these can be cared for simply, like any well-made modern piece.
