♛Details

•Highlights: best of the best!; Peter Pan collar; self fabric buttons + fabric loops; puffed and padded shoulder; gently tapered sleeve; interior carved decorative shell button keeps this wrap style securely closed; rear Basque pointed waistline

Now, can we talk about the twin triangular bust pockets incorporated into her flattering princess seams? narrow and stabby, they would fit either a pair of long-stemmed roses or secret knives, you decide! ;)

Each pocket is expertly lavished with the arcane curves and mysterious curls of gilt metallic braid passementerie, then studded with golden metal, as well

The fit is every bit as sleek and sylph-like as depicted -- I show it both backlit and sidelit with natural light from the window, and using two different cameras -- so you can get an idea of the rich red color and how gorgeously she shows up on film

Truly among the best from this era when it comes to winter and holiday outerwear -- this top-shelf beauty is fit for a queen and will serve you beautifully for years to come

♛Condition

Very good vintage condition. Cleaned, vivid, and smells fresh. 80+ years old and feels sturdy.

To note: some subtle blemishes. Nothing overt for a near-antique...she seems to have been gently used in her time.

A ghostly hint of a spot or two at the button placket, then a few more of the same thing down low on front skirt to one side. These are faint, the kind of thing where you keep cocking your head wondering if it's a shadow or really there. I took close-ups in an attempt to capture them using the direct, rather brutal light from my north window.  Let's put it this way -- I'm looking at her right now in normal interior lighting, and can't make them out. Chasing minor imperfections risks her vivid hue and crisp look; I don't recommend it. Red is a notoriously unstable dye.

Rear of a sleeve has two little holes that do not go through to skin. Interior lining has one faint fingertip-sized spot near rear waist seam. The lower cloth button loop has slight darkening at its edge, hidden behind button when coat is on/worn.

Priced with all in mind and sold as-is, she remains a beautiful treasure from an increasingly distant era.
