•Highlights: high Parisian style and top notch construction; heavily padded shoulders; sophisticate angled stitched details; velvet collar; incredible faceted black jet glass buttons with golden metallic edges and mirror-shiny faces; you can SEE and FEEL the quality; this designer was not only hotly coveted in the era, but he also survived the Hindenburg's disastrous last flight by leaping from it while it was still in the air! And though badly burned, he survived to live another 20 years

•Colors: black

•Fabric(s): wool knit, silk velvet, silky crepe lining

•Lined: fully

•Closures: buttons

•Designer/Labels: Mangone, New York and I. Magnin & Co.

About a modern size M (or a roomy S)

Please allow room for fit and ease and any clothing layered under it.

Bust (underarm area measured flat on exterior, then doubled) about 39"

Waist about 32"

Length about 26"

Shoulder span about 16"

Sleeves about 23 3/4"

Great vintage condition. Cleaned. 70+ years old.

To note: there's a pinpoint-sized faded dot on edge of lapel (see last photo -- it's not noticed when worn but could be touched up with the tiniest bit of fabric paint if you are picky!). Minor signs of wear to the silk velvet collar, and a few fade dots on the ~inside~ lining that are hidden when worn.

Our pieces are true vintage with a history and a past life, not newly made reproductions. Please be familiar with vintage clothing and read over our shop policies before purchasing. We are happy to answer any questions you might have to help you with online purchasing.
